The New York Jets were rumored to be trading up to get a receiver in the second round of the draft this year, but that never happened. Despite the rumors, Marqise Lee and all of the other receiver targets landed elsewhere and the Jets stayed put.
However, the Jets staying put wasn’t for a lack of trying as they attempted to trade up in the second round but couldn’t find a suitor.
John Idzik admits that the Jets did make calls to move up in the second round. Won't get into specifics about his target (s). #nyj

The Jets didn’t get into exactly who they wanted but it’s believed that they were looking to trade up to grab someone like Marqise Lee to bolster the offense. It’s been an interesting draft his far for New York and it’s one that hasn’t been particularly bad so there isn’t a lot to get miffed about when it comes to failing to trade up.
