The NFL Draft has come and gone and it’s now time to reflect on how each team did despite the fact that we won’t really know until much further into the future. Still, we can get a feel of how players might do in their immediate careers based off of what they did in college and how well they fit into the systems they were drafted into.

Draft Picks

PickPlayer
2.27Jack Mewhort, OL , Ohio State
3.26Donte Moncrief, WR , Mississippi
5.26Jonathan Newsome, DE , Ball State
6.27Andrew Jackson, ILB, Western Kentucky
7.17Ulrick John, OT, Georgia State

Best Pick: Donte Moncrief/WR/Mississippi

The Colts did pretty well for not having a first round pick and grabbed one of the sleepers of the draft in Donte Moncrief. Andrew Luck now has another weapon to play with on offense and the receiving corps just got a lot more exciting then it was in 2013. Add Reggie Wayne back to the mix and all of a sudden the Colts offense is surprisingly explosive.

Worst Pick: Andrew Jackson/ILB/Western Kentucky

I really think the offensive line could have been addressed here but in stead the Colts went linebacker to shore up some holes on the defensive side of the ball. I don’t hate the pick, but Jackson may have still been there in the seventh round and a better offensive lineman could have been the pick.
