MLB goes all-out for Mother’s Day, letting the players use pink bats and wear pink stuff with their uniforms. That wasn’t enough for the Brewers’ Carlos Gomez, who also dyed his goatee pink for the occasion.

Derek Jeter heard about the pink goatee and had to get a closer look for himself.

As a Yankee, Derek Jeter isn’t allowed to have any facial hair, so a pink goatee is out of the question for him. All he can do is admire Carlos Gomez’s pink goatee.

Next year when Derek is a private citizen, he can grow a goatee if he wants. And dye it any color he wants.

I’ll be curious to see what kind of long-hidden facial hair desires Derek allows to run wild after he’s finally retired.

Who knows? He could go full Brett Favre. He could grow the hipster folk musician beard. He could go Jack Sparrow on the deal.

Or he could remain clean shaven because he’s Derek Jeter and that’s how Derek Jeter rolls.

Hopefully he only shaves the usual things men shave. There’s no A-Rod tendency for Jeter, I sincerely pray.
