Paul George scored 39 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Pacers rallied from a 19-point second half deficit to defeat the Washington Wizards 95-92 and take a commanding 3-1 lead in their second round playoff series.

Roy Hibbert scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds and George Hill added 15 points, but it was George, who was the star. He shot 12-of-20 from the field, seven-of-10 from beyond the arc, eight-of-10 from the charity stripe and scored 28 of his 39 points in the second half.

After the Pacers tied the game at 74 early in the fourth quarter, the Wizards scored the next nine points to seemingly take back control of the game. Led by George, the Pacers quickly closed the gap, regaining the lead at 90-89 with just over two minutes to go. George Hill had a chance to put the game away, but made just one of two free throws, giving the Wizards the ball down 95-92 with 6.1 seconds to go. The Wizards, however, lost the in-bounds pass and the Pacers walked away with the win.

Bradley Beal had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead the Wizards while Trevor Ariza scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds. John Wall was limited to 12 points on four-of-11 shooting.

After the Pacers took a one-point lead into the second quarter, the Wizards completely shut down the Pacers’ offense in the second quarter, outscoring them 29-11 to take a 17-point lead into the break. The Wizards pushed the lead to 19 to open the second half, but the Pacers’ offense exploded for 33 points in the quarter while holding the Wizards to just 17 points and trailed just 72-71 after three.
