The Minnesota Vikings were able to make a trade with the Seattle Seahawks for the final pick of the first round of this years draft. We all know that they took Louisville Cardinals’ quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

The Vikings struggled with Josh Freeman, Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel. Cassel not so much. Now according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, first year Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer state that there’s a possibility that they will start Teddy Bridgewater in 2014.

"“Teddy will play when we feel like he’s ready, if he’s the best guy, which we hope that he will be. We always want to have competition.” Mike Zimmer told the media via the Minneapolis Star-Tribune."

Minnesota re-signed Cassel who appears to be the third string quarterback on the depth chart behind Bridgewater. It will more than likely come down to the final pre-season game between all three quarterbacks. Right now, I would have to give the edge to the rookie.

"“I can’t tell you the last time I sat and watched. But my expectations here are to show that I can compete at a high level and lead this team.” Bridgewater told reporters."

What do you think Vikings fans? Do you want Bridgewater as the number one quarterback on the depth chart?
