The Georgetown Hoyas are going back to their roots trying to upgrade the front court.

They already have a commitment from 4-star power forward Marcus Derrickson. The 6’7, 225-pound Derrickson attends Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Virginia. Then, last week another 4-star power forward, Noah Dickerson, gave his pledge to the Hoyas. The 6’8 Dickerson attends Montverde Academy in Florida.

On Tuesday, head coach John Thompson III and his Hoyas got a commitment from 4-star center Jessie Govan (who is a 5-star prospect according to 24/7 Sports).

The 6’10, 250-pound Govan is from Lancaster, New York and attends Wings Academy.

Govan is ranked as the country’s 10th-best center prospect, the third-best overall prospect in the state of New York and the 66th-best overall prospect, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings (24/7 Sports ranks him as the country’s fourth-best center prospect, the third-best overall prospect in New York and the 15th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015).

Govan had offers from nearly all of the country’s elite programs, including the Arizona Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Syracuse Orange and the defending National Champion Connecticut Huskies.
