Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson is trying to work on a new deal. He is slated to make $2 million this season and $10 million in 2015 after the Cardinals picked up his option. After seeing Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman sign a large contract, Peterson thinks he can use that as a negotiating tool and benchmark for his own deal.

“I’m making OK money right now, but I’m just not making his money right now,” Peterson told ESPN on Monday, via CBSSports.com.

When asked if he would get Sherman-type money, Peterson downplayed it saying it is about the two sides coming to an agreement.

“We’ll see,” Peterson said. “Got to ask the Cardinals. I mean, I think I am but at the end of the day both sides have to agree to terms and we’ll see what those terms are and hopefully sooner than later.”

Of course you knew Richard Sherman was going to respond to this, and he did on Twitter.
