Joe Namath says Michael Vick should start over Geno Smith
By Dan Zinski
Nobody in the Jets organization listens to Joe Namath. Not one single person. And yet, Joe Namath won’t stop giving his advice about what the Jets should do.
Because Joe is Joe, you just knew he would have an opinion about the starting quarterback situation with the Jets. Michael Vick or Geno Smith? Or whatever is behind door #3?
Joe Namath has sounded off, and he believes that Michael Vick is the answer for the Jets.
“Of course, the coaches are going to decide who’s out there, but, boy, I don’t know any football fan that’s been around for nine or 10 years that doesn’t think Michael will be outstanding and probably is the best player at this time,” Namath said per ESPN.
“If Mike’s healthy, I think he’s the better player at this point,” Namath prattled on. “Now, Geno’s got some talent, no doubt, but we’ve obviously seen Michael and what he can do.”
Namath also pointed out that Vick already has experience in Marty Mornhinweg’s offense. Good point Joe.
Really though, let’s be honest here. Joe only likes Vick because Vick, like Joe, is an enemy of PETA. That’s what it boils down to. PETA hates Joe for wearing fur, and they hate Vick…for obvious reasons.
If Geno wants the Namath endorsement, he has to start doing terrible things to animals. That’s the only thing that will do it. Otherwise, Namath is a Vick guy all the way.
Good thing for Geno, the Jets have a policy of totally ignoring Joe Namath.
