Whether you’re tired of the story itself or not, you can’t argue that everything surrounding St. Louis Rams defensive end Michael Sam is intriguing. Becoming the first openly gay football player to ever be drafted is going to bring a lot of attention to the forefront, and now Oprah Winfrey is looking to expand on that.

There’s no word yet on what the documentary will entail, or how long the series will be, just that Sam will be involved as his tremendous story continues to flourish.

Sam announced that he was gay prior to the NFL Scouting Combine back in February and then was drafted in the seventh round this past weekend by the Rams. He still has a long way to go until he makes the team, but as we’ve seen already, it’s hard to keep the reigning SEC Defensive Player of the Year down.

Apparently now, we’ll get to see more of that journey thanks to Oprah.
