The New York Knicks are in a bit of an embarrassing situation as they have completely airballed their attempts to hire Steve Kerr and got scorched last night when he decided to choose the Golden State Warriors over coaching in New York. As a result the Knicks are know scrambling to save face and that could end up landing them a still decent head coach.

According to Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com, the Knicks may look to Mark Jackson to fix up their mess as not only is he the best remaining option for the Knicks but apparently Carmelo Anthony is high on him.

Lost in all of this head coaching shuffle is the fact that the Knicks still need to convince Carmelo Anthony to comeback in 2014-15 as such a thing is far from a slam dunk to happen. Kerr seemed to be someone that enticed Melo but now that the Knicks have been caught with their pants around their ankles, they may need to go hard after a previously Melo-approved candidate to make sure all stays well.

Jackson may not end up being the target the Knicks chase but he’s someone they’ll seriously consider now that they’ve already made themselves look foolish once in front of Melo and won’t want to have it happen again.
