Remember when Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker was walking around Churchill Downs passing out $100 bills at the Kentucky Derby. Well he might have wished he had never done that, because now Downs is saying that Welker was overpaid by nearly $15,000.

From TMZ:

"officials at the track believe there was an error at the window DURING the moments Welker’s ticket was being paid out … (we’re told it was computer malfunction compounded by human error) … and the result was Wes being overpaid to the tune of $14,858.55.A rep for Churchill Downs confirms … “There was a $14 thousand dollar overpayment due to a tote machine malfunction.”"

The track officials say a letter has been sent to the person who collected the winnings asking for the money to be returned. TMZ said they “did some checking and it seems Welker will probably have to pay the money back.” Certainly he can afford it, but since he was paid out reported $57,193.90 at the track. Even if he paid the money back he is still up $42,335.35 for the day, of course that includes all the money he gave away like Jesse Pinkman driving around Albuquerque in Breaking Bad, of course with more drunken joy then anger but you get the idea.
