The Pittsburgh Steelers bolstered their coaching staff in the offseason by hiring former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak as their offensive line coach. He takes over a group that been necessarily the most stable, but Munchak is looking to correct that and is already oozing optimism, or spewing typical coach speak depending on your point of view.

I think we can have a special group here,” Munchak said, via Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Munchak said that stability is the key, and it will pay off.

“People don’t know how hard it is to just get plugged in and how much that affects the chemistry of the offensive line,” Munchak said. “I’ve followed them through college and know what type of players they are. I’m excited to work with them.”

Right now this is how the offensive line looks:

LT: Kelvin Beachum
LG: Ramon Foster
C: Maurkice Pouncey
RG: David DeCastro
RT Marcus Gilbert

The key might be Pouncey and his recovery from a torn ACL last year. If Pouncey is healthy, he can really anchor the middle of that line.
