NBA Draft Combine 2014: Aaron Gordon dominates the vertical leap with 39-inch jump (Video)

While there were some big names that decided to skip out on the NBA Draft Combine in preparations for next month’s NBA Draft, there is still a lot of talents in attendance vying for those coveted lottery slots as they get set for their NBA careers.

One of those talents is former Arizona forward Aaron Gordon, who took full advantage of the absences of others to put on a show for the scouts and executives in attendance, especially when it came to the vertical leap.

Watch in the video below as Gordon does so well in the vertical leap that they actually had to raise the bar, literally, for his second attempt.

To even think that a human being could jump that high is amazing. The official number for Gordon was 39 inches; again, unfathomable. Gordon’s performance in this event comes one day after a training facility released a photo of Andrew Wiggins pulling off a 44-inch jump, and here’s a look at the two put together side-by-side.

Basketball players can jump really, really high. We know this, but that still doesn’t make it any less amazing to watch something like this up close when it takes place.
