It seems that no matter how irrelevant the Boston Celtics are in the NBA at the moment, we can’t avoid Rajon Rondo trade rumors. The only connection the Celtics have to the postseason got eliminated with the Brooklyn Nets but with the Conference Finals set and ready to begin, we can’t seem to stop talking about Rajon Rondo getting traded.

Fans can never get sick of trade rumors, as they’re a fun aspect of the game, but Celtics general manager Danny Ainge isn’t so hot about hearing the rumors circling and has spoke up about how all talks are nothing but speculation.

Per Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald:

"“That’s all speculation,” Ainge said. “Those aren’t facts. People don’t know that, so it’s just people speculating on Rondo’s free agency next summer. That’s all that you’re hearing. You’re not hearing any facts from anybody. Those conversations haven’t even been discussed, so that’s just speculation.”"

We’ve been hearing Rondo trade rumors for basically his entire career, so this latest batch of rumors is nothing new and likely won’t lead anywhere. But we’re closer to his impending free agency than we ever have been which seems to be giving some credence to the rumors that Boston will eventually move on from Rondo and replace him in the draft.
