The New York Jets went out and made a splashy signing when the grabbed Chris Johnson from the Tennessee Titans but theta apparently wasn’t the last running back they were going to add. Despite having Johnson in the backfield, the Jets have gone out and claimed former St. Louis Rams running back Daryl Richardson.

On Friday it was announced that the Jets had been awarded Richardson and he will be joining their roster right away.

The move is interesting in that the Jets seemed to have things figured out in the backfield, then again they don’t have anything figured out offensively which means they can still use all they help they can get. That’s the clear case with the Richardson signing as the former Rams back indeed showed flash at times in St. Louis and comes to New York with a very good chance at winning the backup role behind Johnson.
