From the moment that reports surfaced of a Michael Sam reality show on Oprah’s network, there have been plenty of criticism. There have even been some unnamed St. Louis Rams teammates that don’t seem fond of the idea, but the franchise does not seem to have any worries.

According to Pro Football Talk, a league source says the Rams have every intention of cooperating Sam so that his reality show can work out.

Sam’s show will not be a typical self-serving reality series, but instead something that will document his struggles and journey as the first openly gay athlete to step foot onto an NFL field. That is a story that should be told, because it could inspire so many.

If teams are willing to have cameras in their facility during training camp to document their players for HBO’s Hard Knocks, there shouldn’t be anyone complaining that Sam is getting his own show.
