Since Missouri Tigers defensive end Michael Sam came out before the NFL Scouting Combine, there has been a lot of focus and attention on his journey to become the NFL’s first openly gay player. There are some who say it is a distraction and some say it will have no impact, but things really escalated in the hours following the NFL Draft.

When Sam was finally drafted in the last picks of the final seventh round, Sam was overcome with joy and kissed his boyfriend on live television during ESPN’s coverage. This single act brought about a lot of negative response for it being “flaunted” and what kids watching might think about it.

Seriously, as if anyone’s kids were glued to the seventh round and final picks of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Anyways it lead to various sites like Deadspin and Hyper Vocal writing responses in how to explain it to children. None might be better than this video from Heck Bender on YouTube.
