The NFL Draft was last weekend and the prospects who were entering the league saw promises kept and promises broken by teams they had talked to before and during the draft. While we didn’t have a Randy Moss moment — at least not one that we know of — we did have more than one occasion where a team said they’d take a player but were beaten to the punch.

This was the case with Terrance West, the Towson running back star who is now calling Cleveland his football home. But he was just fife picks away from calling Baltimore his football home, as he revealed the Ravens texted him to inform him he’d be their selection at 99th overall.

The Browns traded up to the 94th overall position and drafted West before the Ravens could and that could end up being a storyline we follow in the AFC North as the Ravens and Browns may create the rivalry we’ve always wanted to see and West could end up being a big part of that.
