The NBA Draft Lottery is this week and the league is going to be pulling out all the stops to make sure we still care about the most randomly lucky draw in all of sports. There has been a lot of conspiracy theories throughout the years about the draft lottery, but for those os us who don’t wear tinfoil hats around, the event is the true start of the offseason and the NBA is recognizing it as the kick off the the NBA Draft.

As a result, the league is inviting the top ten prospects to attend the lottery announcement but only eight will be making it out to New York. According to Adrian Wojnarokwsi, Dante Exum and Gary Harris Jr will both elect to train in Los Angeles rather than attend the lottery.

It’s a wise move for both as Exum has a lot to live up to and can use all the training he can muster in this final month before the draft. Harris needs the work because he was a dud at the draft combine and wasn’t able to muster up any sort of hype for himself.

The whole notion of inviting the players to the lottery is a bit tedious, but it’s apparently optional and we’ll see who else drops out before Tuesday.
