Oakland Raiders claim former Browns receiver Greg Little off waivers

The Oakland Raiders claimed former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little off waivers, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Little, 24, was released by the Browns after a he had 41 receptions for 465 yards and two touchdowns while appearing in 16 games and making 13 starts for the team who drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

The receptions and yards are both career-lows for Little while the two touchdowns matches the career-low he set as a rookie in 2011.

Little never realized the potential he showed at North Carolina prior to his suspension that also saw Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin declared ineligible.

With 41 starts over three seasons and 48 games played in his three-year career, the Raiders are rolling the dice that a change of scenery will do wonders for the 6’2”, 215-pound receiver with 155 career catches for 1,821 yards and eight touchdowns.

Little never showed he could be a No. 1 or even a No. 2 receiver in Cleveland, but he is still young and he wouldn’t be the first person to thrive once he leaves Cleveland, so perhaps he makes the most of this second chance and makes an impact on the Raiders in 2014.
