Ladies and gentlemen I think the Cleveland Indians just broke the record for roster moves made in one day.

Today it was announced that veteran first baseman/designated hitter Jason Giambi would be activated from the 15-day disabled list according to Kenny Roda on Twitter – which wouldn’t be the only move the Indians would make.

Giambi is coming off his second stint on the disabled list this season. Hopefully he’s able to keep himself together and away from the shelf if he wants to be able to contribute this year. He currently has zero hits and has struck out two times in about 10 at-bats with the Indians.

Infielder Justin Sellers was recalled from Triple-A Columbus. Sellers currently owns a career .199/.278/.301 batting line (266 appearances) in the Majors. Something he’ll need to work on but at least his glove is somewhat decent. With Sellers coming up, the Indians optioned both first baseman Jesus Aguilar and Jose Ramirez to Triple-A Columbus.

Aguilar was just called up about a week ago by Cleveland, but the 23 year old should have another opportunity with the active roster later on in the year depending on what happens to Giambi. Jose Ramirez is another infielder who has struggled in the batters box but has flashed a little bit of leather.
