NBA Draft Rumors: Brooklyn Nets interview Shabazz Napier, Deonte Burton, Spencer Dinwiddie & Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Due to all of their moves over the last few seasons, the Brooklyn Nets are without a first round draft pick this season.
With Paul Pierce, Shaun Livingston and Andray Blatche about to his free agency and Kevin Garnett’s future up in the air, the Nets don’t have the cap space t0 make a lot of noise in free agency. That’s why the team is going to attempt to trade for a pick, likely late in the first round, according to Mike Mazzeo of ESPN New York.
Although acquiring that pick won’t be easy, the Nets have already interviewed several prospects, including former Connecticut Huskies’ point guard Shabazz Napier, former Colorado Buffaloes’ point guard Spencer Dinwiddie, former Nevada Wolfpack point guard Deonte Burton and the brother of Milwaukee Bucks’ swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
By the looks of their interviews, the Nets are obviously in the market for a point guard to replace Livingston or a wing to replace Pierce.
