Denver Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell received a sentence of seven months for DUI charges.

Russell pled guilty to the charges which included DUI, careless driving and possession of an open alcohol container. In addition to the seven months, Russell will be on probation for two years.

While under the influence, Russell drove into a police SUV, injuring a police officer in Breckenridge, Colorado.

According to NBC Sports, a source has stated that Russell will be eligible for work furlough. The sentence will most likely be completed in just over three months due to a day for day credit being given for time served.

This is Russell’s first DUI, making many spectators believe that the judge is making an example out of the high profile nature of the case.
