Robert Griffin III plays matchmaker, gets high school girl a prom date
It’s become a very common story – professional and college athletes making wishes and dreams come true by escorting young men or women to their high school proms. But Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was asked to help with a prom date in a much different way.

During an interview on Washington’s 106.7 The Fan, RG3 was asked to help Maryland high school senior “Lexi” procure a date to her prom, so the two decided to call the object of her intent, “Jack” while on the air.
Imagine your surprise if you picked up the phone and heard this:
"Alright, Jack. This is Robert Griffin III, in case you were wondering. My friend Lexie, she’s a great girl, but she is a little shy. And she wanted to ask you to prom, man. So here I am, as her personal prom asker. Will you go to prom with her, man?"
To no one’s surprise, the young man responded affirmatively to the request. After all, she’s got RG3’s endorsement, how bad could it be?

Griffin then decided to make sure young Lexi was to be well taken care of, adding “Lexi will call me if anything goes wrong.”
Wait…anything? That leaves the door wide open and certainly puts a lot of pressure on the poor kid. I mean, what if she just wasn’t happy with the corsage? Would Griffin and his offensive line come looking for him?
We can only hope all’s well that ends well with this prom story.
