The Jacksonville Jaguars selected UCF quarterback Blake Bortles with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and he has been making a positive impression since joining the team.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars

Bortles has been hard at work with the team for rookie minicamp and OTAs, but it is not just how he is performing that has people in the Jaguars impressed. It is actually his approach to the game that has everyone raving.

The first year player has been receiving praise from coaches and teammates alike, with offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch being one of the most impressed men involved with the team.

“He is committed to working hard and doing things right,” Fisch said, via Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union. “His study habits have been excellent. His questions have been excellent.”

As for Bortles’ fellow quarterback Chad Henne, the praise was just as high.

“I thought he did a great job going to the right place with the ball,” Henne said. “He made some good plays out there. He’s a good kid. He comes in the mornings, asks questions and watches film.”

There is a real chance that Bortles will be the Jaguars’ starter from Day 1, so we will have to wait and see whether or not that approach leads to success on the field.
