The NBA draft is a little over a month away and teams around the league are hard at work scheduling workouts to find the best choice for any of their draft picks when the times comes in late June.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Gary Harris could be one of those options for a team selecting in the lottery of the first round and many of those teams are already trying to get the young guard in for a workout, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns, who will hold workouts for the guard the first week of June, according to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com.

"The lottery-projected shooting guard out of Michigan State Gary Harris is scheduled to work out for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers during the first week of June, sources informed CSNNW.com."

The Los Angeles Lakers selection at 7 may be the highest pick Gary Harris has been linked to after being closer to the end of the lottery most of the college basketball season. Gary Harris and Michigan’s Nik Stauskas are considered two of the top shooting guards in the draft and the depth of the position will likely cause the two to go higher than expected.

The Lakers may be looking for their guard of the future with the end of Kobe Bryant’s career approaching. The Phoenix Suns hold the rights to several picks in the first round, including the 14th in the lottery.

The Suns could use a scorer to add into the equation alongside Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe, but may have bigger needs at the forward positions.
