It was quite the weekend for Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love.

More from Boston Celtics

Love took a trip across the country to visit the city of Boston.

That sparked many to decide that Love would soon be bound for Boston to play for the Celtics and one report suggested that Love would indeed accept a trade to the Celtics.

The Celtics are armed with assets from the trade that sent Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Brooklyn Nets and have talented young players, so they could be a realistic trade partner if the Timberwolves decide they do have to trade Love.

On Sunday, Love took a trip to Fenway Park to watch the Boston Red Sox play host to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox defeated the Rays 4-0 to earn their seventh straight victory, but the story for many was Love and his meeting with Celtics’ point guard Rajon Rondo.

Love clearly had a good time in Boston over the weekend and according to one report, he is even going to talk to fellow UCLA Bruins’ alumnus Bill Walton about what it is like to play for the Celtics. After all was said and done, Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz tweeted atLove, asking him if he needed advice on moving from Minnesota to Boston.

Ortiz, of course, played for the Minnesota Twins before joining the Red Sox.

Ortiz is hitting .262, has posted an on-base percentage of .368 and is slugging .487 with 12 home runs and 31 RBI.

Love averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season.
