The Phoenix Suns have been one of the more active teams throughout the pre-draft workout process, and with good reason, as the franchise currently possesses a staggering three first-round picks in the 2014 NBA Draft. Players like Gary Harris have reportedly been visiting Phoenix, and a group of wing options that included Rodney Hood and James Young also came through the facility. Now, there is a report that links both UConn guard Shabazz Napier and Michigan forward Glenn Robinson III to the Suns with a workout on Tuesday.

It isn’t difficult to see why Phoenix would be interested in both players, especially with either the 18th or 27th picks in the draft. Napier, who happened to be the Most Outstanding Player on a National Championship team at UConn, is currently projected as the 28th pick (to the LA Clippers) by Draft Express and as the 24th pick (to Charlotte) by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. The Suns have a crowded backcourt at the moment with both Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe, but with Bledsoe’s future up in the air, they could do far worse than Shabazz Napier as a guard of the future.

Robinson is trailing Napier on most draft boards, as he is pegged by most (including Goodman) as a second-round selection, but Draft Express pegs him to the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 29th pick, and “GRIII” has physical gifts that are undeniably impressive. The Suns can afford to shoot for the stars with at least one of their picks because of their wealth of assets, and Robinson would possess some serious upside.
