Jordy Nelson evasive on Green Bay Packers contract talks
By Bryan Rose
When healthy, Jordy Nelson is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and understandably, he wants his pay to reflect his skill set.

On the flip side, the Green Bay Packers have an organization to run and financially, they have to be careful when and how they shell out money.
That’s not to say they don’t want to pay Nelson what he deserves, but they also have to look towards the future and want to make sure they set themselves up for the long haul as he isn’t the only player on the roster who is due for a contract extension soon.
The two sides have reportedly been speaking about a deal for some time, though, a middle ground has yet to be found and Nelson, when asked about the status on Tuesday, was rather evasive.
“Obviously, you want to get it done as soon as possible,” said Nelson. “But there are a lot of other people that are involved in that. It’s a process and we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
“I guess I’m more focused on hoping it gets done before we get to that.”
That didn’t sound like the most confident answer that something would be completed, though, the Packers obviously are going to do everything they can to make sure Nelson never hits the open market so it may just be posturing from Nelson.
The Pro Bowl wideout is currently playing on a three-year, $12.6 million dollar contract which he signed in 2011.
