Many where shocked when Robert Griffin III returned from his knee reconstruction last season as he was well ahead of the anticipated return date.

Both Griffin and the Washington Redskins stated he was healthy, but watching the former Baylor product play, it’s evident Griffin was far from it. Regardless, the Redskins continued to run their franchise quarterback into harm’s way before eventually turning to backup Kirk Cousins when the season was all but over.
Thankfully it doesn’t appear as if any long term damage was done regarding the physical or mental psyche of Griffin, who reportedly looks like a ‘different’ quarterback now that he’s healthy.
“RG3 looks like a different QB,” says Jim Corbett. “Effortless in his drops and throwing mechanics without that ball and chain knee brace.”
In a league built off a ‘what have you done for me lately’ attitude, many have likely forgotten just how talented Griffin was after watching him limp around for a season, looking like a shell of his former self.
But now with added weapons on offense and a full arsenal of physical gifts, which include his ability to scramble out of the pocket, it’s possible we’ll be seeing vintage RGIII when the Redskins take the field this season.
Also of note, Griffin will now be playing in the much more ‘pass happy’ offensive system of head coach Jay Gruden, so it seems as if the stars are aligning for the overly talented quarterback who put up gaudy numbers and countless impressive plays during his rookie season.
