Although his free agency has been overshadowed so far, Los Angeles Lakers’ big man Pau Gasol is set to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent in less than a month.

More from Chicago Bulls

Gasol should have plenty of suitors and has made it clear he wants to play for a contender.

Jabari Davis mentions the Los Angeles Lakers, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls as potential landing spots and adds another interesting team to the mix – the San Antonio Spurs.

"Hey Roger, looks as though you are the last one, so thanks a lot for being a part of this week. I haven’t heard any updates beyond that report from last month that said he’s consider the Lakers, Spurs, Grizzlies, and Bulls this summer. Each would make a lot of sense for various reasons, but that’s really because Gasol has always been the perfect complementary piece and great teammate. I won’t even mince words on this one, as if I were him (and going to leave the Lakers), I would go to the Spurs. If an agreement cannot be reached in LA, San Antonio’s system would be absolutely perfect for Gasol."

Each destination would make sense for Gasol. He’s comfortable in Los Angeles, he could play alongside his brother in Memphis, Chicago is close to a title and San Antonio could be closing in on one right now.

The Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns are also reportedly interested in Gasol.

Gasol averaged 17.4 points, 9.7 rebounds 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game last season. He shot 48.0% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 73.6% from the free throw line.
