Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said that he only met with Minneaota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love for ’39 seconds’ this past weekend, but the two were spotted enjoying the sights at a Boston Red Sox game leading many to believe there was a little more conversation than Rondo wanted to lead on.

More from Boston Celtics

Love of course, has allegedly told the Timberwolves he wants out and the Celtics have been rumored to be one of the teams with the better chances of obtaining the All-Star via trade.

Given all of that, it should come as no shock that Rondo recently expressed a desire for his Celtics to make ‘big’ changes this offseason.

“Hopefully this summer we’re going to make some big changes,” said Rondo. “Get the ball rolling and get back to the Finals pretty soon. I know Danny Ainge is doing his job, and I’m going to go out every summer and do my job and get better.”

Currently in the midst of a re-building project, the Celtics could go the ‘traditional’ route of building through the draft though that does little for Rondo will be nearing the end of his contract and a few years older once the Celtics find themselves in contention again. Given that, it’s understandable that Rondo would prefer the team ship out some of its younger prospects and/or draft picks in effort to get better right now.

The All-Star point guard of course didn’t mention Love by name given the fear of tampering, but it’s clear Rondo wants to win and he wants to win now.
