The time has finally arrived. After last weekend’s drama in the Regional round, it’s now time to begin inching closer to the 2014 College World Series as the Super Regionals start to play themselves out.

What started out as a field of 64 teams has now been dwindled all the way down to 16, although there are some surprises.

Teams the likes of Florida State, Florida and Oregon State –all favorites coming into the Regionals– were stunned and sent home packing on their home fields. That’s what this format will do to some of the top teams at times–after a successful season in which everyone is telling you that you have the squad that can win the national championship, you’re knocked out before you can even blink.

Still, though, there are 16 teams left that are all capable of making it to Omaha and that journey begins on Friday in the Super Regionals.

With that, here’s a look at the schedule for the first day of the festivities as the Road to Omaha continues on.
