The success for Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher and the 2015 recruiting class continued on Saturday with the commitment of linebacker Sh’mar Kilby-Lane out of Hallandale High School in the state of Florida.

While yet another feather in the cap for Fisher and the class, this one actually comes as a bit of a surprise as many outlets had Kilby-Lane attending Ohio State to play with Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes, although in the end Tallahassee was the place that he ultimately desired to be.

Among the other offers that the 4-star rated linebacker received, which he obviously turned down, were from the likes of the Buckeyes, the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks and Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Hallandale native now becomes the 12th hard commit of the Seminoles’ 2015 recruiting class, keeping them steadily near the top of the rankings on most recruiting service outlets, where they have spent a good amount of their time under the Jimbo Fisher regime.

Kilby-Lane comes in at 6-2 and 215-pounds and is the 13th rated outside linebacker according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and the 201st overall player in the country.

As for his position on the Seminoles’ 2015 class, he’s the second linebacker prospect to commit to Tallahassee following the commitment of Brian Bell back in February.
