However, if the Warriors want to pull of a trade for a player like Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love, they made to part ways with Thompson in a trade, causing many to speculate about the 24-year old’s future.

Thompson was asked about his future by a Turkish blogger, Mete Aktas and Diamond Leung of The Bay Area News Group was kind enough to translate.

"Even while in Turkey helping promote the NBA, Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson was asked about trade rumors. With Minnesota star forward Kevin Love appearing likely to put on the trading block, the Warriors are seen as one of the teams that will place a bid. In return, the Timberwolves are expected to ask for a lot in return, and that’s where talents like Thompson and forward Harrison Barnes come into play.Thompson told Turkish blogger Mete Aktas on Friday that he’s used to hearing the rumors, adding, “Your job is never secure in this league unless your name is LeBron James or Steph Curry.”Asked if he could see his future being at Golden State and if would remain there, Thompson said (in translation), “I hope that happens, but it is a fact that you never know what will happen in the NBA.”"

Thompson averaged 18.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 44.4% from the field, 41.7% from beyond the arc and 79.5% from the charity stripe. In the postseason, he put up 16.4 points, 3.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 40.8% from the field, 36.4% from three and 79.2% from the free throw line.
