There have been rumors that star point guard Kyrie Irving is not happy in Cleveland and could soon be moving on from the Cavaliers.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

There are reports that the Cavaliers may feel the same way and have “fielded calls” for Irving. In fact, the Houston Rockets will likely be inquiring about the availability of Irving (Of course, the Cavaliers are likely going to be offering Irving a max extension).

Bill Ingram of Basketball Insiders was asked about Irving potentially making his way to New York to join the Knicks and Ingram made it known that Irving won’t be playing for the Knicks any time soon.

"LateakIts no secret that Kyrie Irving doesn’t want to be n Cleveland…. I always hear he wants to come home n play for the Knicks…. Is it possible this season r next season he comes to usBill IngramHard to see how he winds up in New York . . .especially since they aren’t poised to win any time soon. I think that’s wishful thinking on the part of New York media and fans. Kyrie wants to win, and if the Cavs put him in a position to do that I think he will stay. If they don’t, they will trade him to the highest bidder. That won’t be NY."

At this point, the Knicks getting any star, with the exception of re-signing Carmelo Anthony, is quite the long shot.

Irving averaged 20.8 points, 6.1 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game and shot 43.0% from the field, 35.8% from beyond the arc and 86.1% from the free throw line in 71 games last season.
