At one time, Australian point guard Dante Exum was a virtual unknown.

Now the world is familiar with Exum and his draft stock has shot up the boards. In fact, it looks like Exum has joined the elite group of prospects at the top of the draft – former Kansas Jayhawks’ center Joel Embiid, his former Jayhawks teammate, forward Andrew Wiggins and former Duke Blue Devils’ forward Jabari Parker. Exum could go as high as two and likely won’t fall any lower than four.

So far Exum has only scheduled workouts with the Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando, the teams that hold the top three picks in the draft. Chad Ford of ESPN.com explained why.

"I think the Bucks, Sixers and Magic all really like Exum and there’s a chance he lands with each team. The Magic really need a point guard and have liked Exum all year, so that’s probably his floor. However, they also like Marcus Smart and increasingly Noah Vonleh. Which means it’s also possible Exum slides. The reason he hasn’t scheduled other workouts, I think he’s confident Boston or LA would for sure take him. If he’s going to slide those are two great situations for him. As for Utah, they may take him too, though I think that’s a team that Exum is less excited to join."

The Bucks believe they can shift Brandon Knight to shooting guard and play Exum with him while the Magic have an obvious need at point guard and the 76ers could either try to play Exum with the 2013-2014 Rookie of the Year, Michael Carter-Williams.

Exum measured in at 6’6 and 196 lbs. with a wingspan of 6’9.5 at the NBA’s Scouting Combine. He is scheduled to work out for the Bucks this weekend.
