The Buffalo Bills may have found their match made in heaven. A man responsible for lots of beer and junk food is interested in buying the football team. Tim Graham of The Buffalo News reports that Pabst Blue Ribbon owner C. Dean Metropoulos is interested in buying the Bills. It’s not the first NFL team Metropoulos has shown some interest in, but it may be his best shot yet at an NFL franchise.

In addition to heading up PBR, Metropoulos is also the man whose company bought and resurrected the Twinkie. Which basically makes him an American hero. There really couldn’t be anything more Buffalo than a man with a truck full of beer and Twinkies rolling through town to buy a football team. Now the question is what would this man do once he got what he came for? Metropoulos was also interested in buying the Jacksonville Jaguars, but there was no word on his plans for that franchise either.

There is also no word on what Metropoulos would want to do with the Buffalo franchise if he bought it. Would he want to keep the team in Buffalo long-term or move it elsewhere? It seems that Metropoulos doesn’t have any ties to Western New York, so it’s hard to believe the man is looking to involve his equity group in a long-term investment in a stadium, etc in Buffalo or thereabouts. As usual, we will have any further details on the Buffalo Bills ownership saga as they unfold.
