The Chicago Bulls are in a situation this offseason where they need to get better right away as their championship window is closing at a rapid pace. Derrick Rose’s noodle knees that can’t seem to keep themselves from tearing have set the Bulls back and it’s causing them to become a bit desperate in their attempts to build a championship roster that has eluded them for three years.

More from Chicago Bulls

That desperation, at least according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, has led the Bulls to a situation in which they’re willing to deal All-Star center Joakim Noah in order to land either Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Love or another marquee superstar name.

"According to several NBA sources Sunday, the Bulls have been actively looking to improve the starting lineup at almost any cost, with Derrick Rose the only untouchable player — and not by choice."

Rose being the only untouchable Bulls player is not a surprise but it also shows a bit of discourse in the locker room as the front office continues to be incompetent enough to apparently make players want to leave. That’s not to say Noah wants to leave, but the fact that the Bulls are so desperate that they’re unwilling to shield him from trade talks goes to show just how crazy things are getting.

This isn’t the first time Noah’s name has come up in trade discussions before, and he’s yet to be traded, so at the end of the day this could all be a lot of nothing from the Bulls and Noah may very well remain a large part of Chicago’s future.
