North Carolina football recruiting: 3-star OT Emanuel McGirt commits to Tar Heels
The North Carolina Tar Heels are in the midst of putting together an excellent recruiting class in the class of 2015.

They entered Tuesday with 10 commitments, which ranks fourth in the ACC and 23rd in the country thus far. They have been especially impressive bringing in offensive limeman commitments. They already have pledges from 4-star offensive tackle Mason Veal of Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, 3-star center Tommy Hatton of St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey and 3-star offensive tackle William Sweet of First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
On Tuesday, the Tar Heels landed their 11th-overall commitment and fourth offensive lineman when 3-star offensive tackle Emanuel McGirt gave his pledge to the Tar Heels.
“The staff is great,” McGirt first told 247Sports.com via Ryan Bartow. “I love the coaches. My sister and parents went there. There’s a lot of positives.”
The 6’6, 275-pounder is from Durham, North Carolina and attends Hillside High School, giving the Tar Heels their fifth commitment from their home state.
McGirt is ranked as a 4-star prospect by 24/7 Sports, but is considered a 3-star prospect in their composite rankings. He is ranked as the country’s 50th-best offensive tackle prospect, the 17th-best overall prospect in the state of the North Carolina and 444th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
McGirt has an impressive list of offers, including the Duke Blue Devils, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers and West Virginia Mountaineers, among others.
