There’s no doubt that defensive back Brandon Flowers is the hottest free agent on the NFL market at the moment. Since his recent release from the Kansas City Chiefs, nearly half of the teams in the league are said to be interested in the former Chief, and that apparently includes the New England Patriots.

If there were any team that might be the front runner at the moment to land his services, it might be the Baltimore Ravens, but as we find out a lot, when it comes to free agent defensive players that still have a lot in the tank, never count out the Patriots and Bill Belichick,

All you have to do to prove that theory is looked toward their blockbuster offseason signing of Darrelle Revis after he was let go by the Buccaneers. Not long after that release, he turned the AFC East upside down by signing with the Pats.

More from New England Patriots

Now, just imagine the possibility of Flowers playing opposite Revis. You know Belichick and the New England defensive staff certainly is.

The 28-year-old Flowers still has a lot to contribute. The cutting by the Chiefs wasn’t so much an indication of what Flowers brings to the table on the field, rather it was more a money-saving move than anything.

Whether or not he lands in New England remains to be seen, but we know how much the Patriots love taking talents that other teams let go and turning them into even bigger stars than they were before.
