The Oakland Raiders, for the first time in a while, have a rather positive issue on their hands in regards to the team’s quarterback situation. After trading for former Houston Texans signal caller Matt Schaub, they went out and drafted Fresno State’s Derek Carr, creating one of the more intriguing battles to watch over the summer.

As of Thursday, however, we now know how that battle will start. According to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, Carr will enter training camp as the second QB on the depth chart behind Matt Schaub.
Oh, & #Raiders coach Dennis Allen said he expects #DerekCarr to be 2nd string QB heading into training camp, behind Schaub, ahead of McGloin

Of course, as Gutierrez stated, this also has some ramifications for third-string quarterback Matt McGloin, who not only started a few games last season while Terrelle Pryor was out with injury, but performed rather well in the process.
Still, we now no for certain that we will get a showdown between Schaub and Carr before the regular season gets underway, and this should be one of the more enjoyable battles to watch play out as the Raiders continue to climb their way back to prominence with a potential franchise quarterback.
The only question is, who will it be?
