With Joel Embiid’s injury news being the biggest story in regards to the NBA as the draft is just a week away, the Kansas center takes to Twitter to let out his frustration.

Prior to the draft, Embiid’s draft stock was in question due to a back injury that ended his rookie season prematurely. Now a foot injury has taken a toll on his draft stock.

“Joel Embiid suffered a stress fracture to the navicular bone in his right foot,” said Arn Tellem, Embiid’s agent. “He is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. Joel will be unable to participate in any additional workouts, and will not attend the draft in New York. We will have no further comment until after the surgery.”

With this information, several draft experts have projected Embiid fall in the draft. Before the injury, many pegged the Cleveland Cavaliers to take the highly-touted Kansas center. But now? Chad Ford of ESPN.com predicts Embiid will fall to the Orlando Magic at 4. Draft Express’ mock draft reflects a similar fall, with Dante Exum dropping into the top three.

For Embiid, this is a process he’ll just have to see through. Big men and foot injuries–or injuries in general–aren’t taken lightly. No franchise wants to be the team that takes the already-inury prone big man over a possible elite wing in Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, or Dante Exum. We know how often Sam Bowie versus Michael Jordan is brought up. Kevin Durant vs. Greg Oden is the most recent version of such.

While injuries aren’t to be joked about, this news makes the 2014 NBA Draft that much more interesting.
