Mike Trout is off to a potential Hall of Fame career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim after finishing as the runner-up in the American League MVP voting each of the past two seasons, and now the young superstar is the first player in Major League Baseball to have his own line of cleats since Ken Griffey Jr.

The Nike Lunar Vapor Trout is sure to be a top seller as he is one of the best players in the game and looked up to by countless little league and high school baseball players across the country, especially in southern California where the 22-year-old outfielder is a staple on the nightly highlight shows for his rare combination of speed and power and diving catches and home run robbing grabs.

It’s commonplace for NBA stars to have their own shoe, but Trout is the first since “The Kid” to have his own cleat named after him and Nike explained how the sleek and stylish shoe will help Trout on the field:

“The first signature cleat for star outfielder Mike Trout, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout redefines the balance of speed and power in baseball and embodies the future direction of the game. Informed by Trout’s own insights, the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout is designed for the directional speed needed to steal more bases, get to more balls in the outfield, and get out of the batters box quickly.”

If you want to pick up a pair of the Nike Lunar Vapor Trouts you can pre-order the cleat, and the Nike Lunar Vapor Trout will be available at select stores starting on July 12. You can see the full photo gallery of the cleat here.
