The 2014 NBA Draft is less than a week away, and with that, the process of inviting top prospects to attend the draft’s green room in person has begun. In that vein, former Duke Blue Devils swingman Rodney Hood has reportedly been summoned.

While the 6-foot-9 Hood is considered to be an absolute “lock” to be taken in the first round, he is considered one of the lower ranked players to be invited. At the moment, ESPN’s Chad Ford projects Hood to land with the Oklahoma City Thunder at the 21st overall pick, while Draft Express has a bit higher projection for him, as they peg him to the Phoenix Suns with the 18th overall selection.

Rodney Hood is considered to be one of the best purely offensive wings in the draft, and his unique blend of size and shooting ability make him a highly attractive options to teams like the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls who would be in the range to select him. Still, it could be a long wait for Hood to come off the board, especially when compared to some of his peers in the green room, and hopefully, the waiting process will not turn into a soap opera for the former Duke and Mississippi State star.
