Enter Tharold Simon.
According to ESPN 710, the former LSU cornerback has “generated more buzz than any player over the past month.”
Simon, who spent all of last season on the sidelines while dealing with a foot injury, will now get his shot to make an impact on the field in his sophomore year in the league.
The competition during training camp for the Seahawks’ nickle corner job will be between Simon, Jeremy Lane and Phillip Adams.
If the buzz that Simon has been generating over the past month is any indication, then the Seahawks defensive backfield could again find a player thrust into stardom. Fitting the bill that has led to success for recent Seahawks corners like Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell, along with Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond who are no longer with the team, Simon measures well over 6-foot tall at 6-foot-3.
Only time will tell whether or not the defending Super Bowl champions will be getting another star defensive back, but there certainly appears to be some promise.
