The Los Angeles Lakers have been involved in more than a few trade rumors in recent weeks as they have the No. 7 overall pick in the draft and are looking to move it as soon as they can. That’s led to a slew of trade rumors that have the Lakers trading the pick to everyone from the Golden State Warriors to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Recently, aside from the Klay Thompson rumor we’ve seen pop up, the Lakers have apparently been interested in Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams and that has led to rumors popping up about Los Angeles acquiring the Rookie of the Year.

According to Eric Pincus from Basketball Insiders, the Lakers rumors involving Michael Carter-Williams are untrue — at the moment.

If the rumors aren’t true, then they at least make sense. The Sixers have been rumored to be looking at drafting Dante Exum as a replacement for Michael Carter-Williams and the Lakers would therefore be realistic home for Carter-Williams.

Los Angeles wants to move the No. 7 pick and would more than likely draft a guard with the pick if they keep it. Trading it to a Sixers team looking for another first-round pick and who wants a top guard is completely plausible and it’s something we could see start to get more real in the next week.
