Since Rob Hennigan took over as general manager of the Orlando Magic, the Magic have been very aggressive.

They have since dealt Howard, guard Jason Richardson, forward Earl Clark and guard J.J. Redick while taking a back a pretty good return that featured several draft picks, including the 12th-overall pick of the first round of this year’s draft, center Nikola Vučević, forward Maurice Harkless and forward Tobias Harris, among others. Now, the Magic are reportedly trying to pull a deal for the number-one overall pick.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors believes the Magic will be extremely aggressive once again on draft night, but he does not expect them to be able to trade into the top-2.

"Comment From Rob Hennigan Do you think I have any tricks up my sleeve this year? Or do I play it conservative and pick BPA 4 and 12 and call it a night?I’m pretty certain you have some tricks up your sleeve, Rob. I think you would have been content to stay at No. 4 had Embiid remained healthy, but you seem to have a guy you really want (Exum?) and are willing to trade into the top two picks to make sure you get. But I don’t think you’ll be able to pull that off. You’re taking the slow road back to contention, but all things considered, I’d be surprised if you weren’t aggressive in finding out just what you could get for two lottery picks in this draft."

The Magic also have future picks and unguaranteed contracts that could be helpful if they decide to make a move, but they are not expected to pursue a veteran.
