Since the beginning of summer, there has been nothing but praise and great evaluations on his work so far and that has continued this week with some comments from the team’s coaching staff.
“Well, he’s a guy that’s going to be a complete weapon,” said Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown, via Fox Sports Southwest. “We can line him up anywhere on the team-tailback spot, at the wide receiver spot, in the slot.
“He has tremendous hands and he’s just not a specialty guy. He could play tailback if you need him to go out there and give you 15 or 20 carries. He’s that type of kid,” Brown continued. “He brings a whole different dimension, a whole different vibe in our room as far as what he does and we’re looking forward to using him as a weapon as well.”
Dunbar has shown some flashes of brilliance throughout his young career and he seems poised to take on a bigger role, so it will be interesting to keep an eye on him as the minicamps and workouts continue.
Once training camp rolls around, Dunbar will have the opportunity to continue his impressive offseason and convince the coaching staff that he is deserving of a more prominent role in the offense moving forward.
It would appear that he is well on his way to doing just that.
