The Utah Jazz are said to be one of the teams in the mix for Dante Exum come Thursday’s 2014 NBA Draft, but the feeling may not be exactly mutual. Despite repeated efforts from the Jazz, they were unable to bring in Australian point guard Dante Exum for w workout.

So why the struggle? Well, apparently, Exum wasn’t all that thrilled with the prospect of playing behind Trey Burke, who the Utah Jazz of course drafted last season.

Now, there’s no reason to suggest that Exum couldn’t beat out Burke in training camp if he’s as talented as many are making it to believe, though, this is also the same player who reportedly didn’t want to play for any franchise outside the Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics just a few weeks ago.

Exum wasn’t alone though in denying the Jazz workouts as Marcus Smart, a fellow point guard denied the Jazz a workout as well.

We’ve seen before that teams aren’t exactly hesitant to draft a player despite their reluctance to workout for the organization so the fact Exum (and Smart) refused to put on a show for Jazz executives doesn’t mean they’ll be passed up by Utah in the draft.

That said, it appears as if Exum has a preference to go elsehwere.

He’ll likely end up getting his wish as it’s very questionable if he’ll even last to the fifth pick as the Orlando Magic (who own the No. 4 pick) are said to be extremely high on Exum.
